What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was the first class at this site. We started the class off, after names and the alphabet sheet, with pronunciation rather than writing. The class went on to include round robin questions, this is an apple, and some dictation. Even though it was the first class the learners worked well together, there wasn’t a lot o confusion, and there was a lot of laughing.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): The class started and ended on time. The class consisted of mostly the same level learners. The learners wrote down a few sentences and did choral response with that, listen and point with a flyer for the Nadaka Park excursion, listen and do, and round robin with pictures of birds. The class had good energy even though the MC was nervous.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started a little late while we waiting for learners to show up. It was a small class but usual for Irvington on this day. We did some dictation and choral response about Friends of Trees, a couple round robin questions about volunteering, and listen and point with a couple documents. We also did a listen and do activity that sort of resembled a round robin activity.

We also did a listen and point activity with a word cloud the MC made.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had a new learner today! The MC did an activity that had all the learners make their own bags out of old shirts. We had them write down a step of the instructions, do the step, and them write down another one. That took longer than we had expected but the learners had fun and practiced speaking. They worked really well together.

We did a lot of writing and speaking but I wish I had done a little less of those and added something more fun. The class lacked a exciting activity to get them working together more. I did move a few learners around to make them work together more which worked perfectly. It was perfect high level/low level pattern that worked well.
