What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started a little late since six o’clock came around and nobody had showed up. About five minutes past six learner trickled in and class begun. After the usual alphabet sheet, names, and lesson title, the MC explained directions (north, south…). We did a lot of Round Robin questions, and a Listen and Point with a map of Gresham/Portland Parks.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did a listen and point with a few pictures fruits and nuts, and a lot of dictation. With each picture, Patrik had the keeners write a sentence about the fruit/nut and sons chiral response.

After the alphabet and names, we did a Listen and point with a map of Gresham parks, and then we worked a lot on pronunciation. Towards the end of the class he played a song and had the learners listen, write, and repeat the lyrics.

The class focused a lot on pronunciation and really had the learners working together. Then, he shifted to the legalization of same sex marriage with a dictation activity explaining what it meant. Class ended a little early with Franz leading the class in The Hokey Pokey.

After the alphabet sheet and yell and spell with names we did the lesson title. Most of the class was spent on a dialog that they listened to, read, spoke, role played, and repeated. For the remainder of the class, the learns wrote down a list of summer activities such as swimming and volleyball techniques. Volleyball was a great word using confusable letters.

We jumped in to the alphabet sheet and soon moved on to the title of the class’ lesson and a short dialog activity. Then, Julie had the learners write down a few sentences with key summer words and we did a couple word searches. Classes ended right on time after listening, singing, and writing the lyrics to a song.

The class started a few minutes late and ended on time. We started with consumables and the title of the class. That included a lot of choral response and the learners took turns reading the few sentences. After that, we stood up and did a few listen and do exercises that had to do with the 4th of July and barbecuing. Ben started the class off with the alphabet sheet starting off slowly and switching to triplets. Once that was done, he came up with the title and an example. For the rest of the class, the learners wrote down all of the streets in the Alphabet District, and searched for different locations on a couple maps. At the end of the class, Ben played “Penny Lane” by The Beatles, and class ended on time.
