What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did alphabet, yell and spell, a dictation followed by a True or False speaking activity. The low scores of the class are due to the fact that the technique and classroom managment fell short of the level required to deal with the lack of connection we had.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Alphabet, Listen & Point was probably a few mins longer than usual because we needed set a slower pace for a low level newcomer we had today. Then we went on with the title of the lesson, dictation, Round Robin using the dictated dialog and then the deck of Professions and a TPR to conclude the class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started practicing the identification of letters of the alphabet, giving positive feedback and encouraging learners to be cooperative. Most of the group are usual comers and they seem to get along really well. Lower level learners were well taken care of. They do struggle with shyness, but no one in particular represented a challenge. They will likely soon catch up with the rest of the class as they continue to be influenced by the positive environment of the group. We ended the class with a fun TPR.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started the class with 9 learners, all usual students but one. We did Alphabet, Listen and Point, and enjoyed the support offered by the older, higher level learners to less skilled folks. One could feel it’s a class with a connection and a lot of enthusiasm. During the last stage of the class 3 more learners come in, which changed the dynamics a bit, but they were quickly integrated and got involved in the activity that was taking place.

Diana put in a lot of effort in the lesson planning and creating a set of cards to play Go Fish. It did pay off.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started with with Alphabet, Listen & Point with the first two learners, but within the next 30 minutes the others started to join us. There was not anything challenging; everyone was pretty much at the same pace and they way the were seated around allowed the slower learners to be supported by either higher level ones (who were really nice and helpful by the way) or the assistants. The TPR activity at the end proved to be perfect to inject energy into the class and reinforce understanding.

We had a dictation activity and ended the class with a Bingo game. Learners did not want to leave, but keep on playing! Monica brought chocolates!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was Joseph’s dress rehearsal today. Class started on time with Alphabet, Listen and Point with almost all seats taken, but learners continued to come until abut a quarter to 7 and we had to bring more tables and ask some folks to sit at another table away from the rest. Logistics didn’t help us much, but we made sure everyone was being taken care of. Joseph was well prepared, confident and knew what to do at every step of the class. The way the students were sitting worked excellently to help low learners catch up and participate more. Assistants were very active and helpful.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had a large class today, we plenty of support as well. I arrived 30 mins late, but Ivy and Janell were already there supporting Janet. They helped us assist learners more individually since many of them were new and low level. We even had a mom that came all of her kids, but Janell took care of them and had them sit in a separate table with papers and colors. Everything went smoothly. Janet used the pictures on the wall to form sentences, practice spelling and speaking. We ended with a TPR about professions.
