What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was good, energy level was up, most of the learners where high level writers, and the lower level learners needed more help, it would of been better to have students share their work and help their classmates instead of the shadows trying to spell words for each of the slower writers this takes away the opportunity for the interaction among them..feedback to the helpers and shadowers as to what their role is in class may be needed.. and we appreciate all the help.September 3, 2015 at 9:03 pm #6086Janet GallagherSpectatorLesson Title: Now You’re Cooking!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This was Yani’s intervention class with Patrik. We practiced asking our neighbor’s names and telling others what we found out. We did a document search on “pocket neighborhoods”. Class ended with a listen and do. 8 students was a small class for Midland and with all the assistants, everyone had plenty of help.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had a large class today, we plenty of support as well. I arrived 30 mins late, but Ivy and Janell were already there supporting Janet. They helped us assist learners more individually since many of them were new and low level. We even had a mom that came all of her kids, but Janell took care of them and had them sit in a separate table with papers and colors. Everything went smoothly. Janet used the pictures on the wall to form sentences, practice spelling and speaking. We ended with a TPR about professions.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had a super large group in the small room. Things would have worked better in the large room. Lots of moving chairs and interrupting the flow of class, not to mention the hazards this creates in event of emergency or fire.
Yani led the group through learning about people in the neighborhood such as police officers. We had several students return after long breaks in attendance.September 17, 2015 at 9:31 pm #6631Janet GallagherSpectatorLesson Title: Bend Over Backward
