What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was Diana’s “try my recipe” I wrote a lesson plan for her and she had to teach the class using it. The class went good and Diana noted that the class was useful in terms of seeing some different techniques being used! the class was fun occasionally too fun, some learners were cracking up after the TPR activity!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Great class with many Shadowers. Patrik assigned each Shadower sections of the table and we begun our lesson. Each shadower was very busy helping learners each time. I liked the use of many Alphabet letter at once such as, “AEIAE” it was even confusing for the shadowers to follow the paterns. I found the use of many letters as a very productive way to try to concentrate on a task. Therefore, I’m gonna use that technique in my classes.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was Tony’s “Gentle Intervention” the class went great. There were some small mistakes with technique but each time i noted to him and explained the small mistakes. Overall the class was really nice and alive. Tony and I practiced his lesson plan before class with each activity. We imagined that was teaching at the moment and I believe that rehearsal also prepared him a little bit and took away a little bit of stress.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): ah i cannot describe what real world materials does to a class environment. The amount of laughter and craziness is just beyond any educational explanation. I basically brought my kitchen’s utensils and practiced “this is a ladle” “a what?” “a ladle” “oh a ladle” just these four short sentences with the real world materials makes your class incredibly fun! I was surprised though that many other learners didn’t show up, otherwise we could’ve made it to 20 learners but maybe next time!

I connected 3 tables in one row and it kind of worked out but I should’ve made two tables together and then made 3 rows but nevertheless it wasn’t a big issue, they got work very close to each other. Went over Alphabet, yell n spell, dictation and the bingo game. Many students asked me questions about each doctors terminology. Such as what does fatigue mean. Overall it was very fun class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Another big class! this time 17 learners including 2 new learners. In the middle of my lesson while everybody was writing a woman and a girl came to our class to talk to me about our classes. I explained to them our schedule. The girl is from Brazil just recently moved so she needs to improve her English. They’re gonna join us on Monday! The class itself was very big and I had a very detailed lesson plan but not for that size of a group after some adjustments in my lesson plan, I managed to deliver an enjoyable, dynamic and productive class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Another big group! Actually it was 15 learners I didn’t count one of the learner’s kid. Her Mom and herself speak the same language as me (Dari), they left after an hour of class and the Mother told me that they have to go to the IRCO. Then another Mother had to leave also because her kid was distracting her a little bit. We had a comeback learner, I noticed that her writing has improved a lot so I said that to her and she said that she takes classes at Mt. Hood but still would like to participate in our classes because our classes is like family studying and they’re fun. Then something really “huuuuge” (Bernie Sander’s voice) happened our low level learner who’s struggling with writing, I used the same technique that Patrik used recently and it worked well but the coolest moment was when after 2 times of practice the same questions but with different scenarios she freaking did it without my help and with such a confidence that the class went “whoa!!!” that was a very powerful moment! My biggest mistake was that I intended to bring food but I didn’t it could make a very beautiful ending there was that moment where if I had food It would’ve been a great ending for my class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was Jess’s “dress rehearsal” and it went great! She was nervous a little bit in the beginning but then overcame her nervousness and brought up everybody’s’ energy in class. I liked how she was emphasizing a lot on pronunciation with each student. She would push up to the right point and until learners would get it but definitely not overdoing or over pushing on them. We also had two new young learners who seemed to like the class as well. At the end everyone applauded to Jess and her first experience.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): pretty big size class! People kept showing even after an hour. One of the learners said that she is there just one time because of her Mother. I struggled with one of the low level learners, she didn’t know how to write so it would take time for her to copy. But I made sure that she catches up each time with the rest and it worked out well . I should thank Patrik for keeping and growing class numbers at Rockwood. The number of learners that I had today (16!) is because of Patrik’s work everyday! Overall, great class, lots of laughter and openness to communicate to each other!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started on time and Ended on time. We went over the Alphabet, yell n spell, Today’s lesson, listen and Point, a dialogue related to emergency situation, TPR, another short dialogue. I had two new learners. One of them had a kid with her and the kid was distracting her so she wasn’t able to concentrate on activities but I did my best to include her by supporting her along the way and at the end she asked me about the schedule of our classes, I guess that’s a good sign. The other new learner was a little bit discouraged in the beginning because she thought that this is not her level but then I paid a decent amount of attention to her to make sure that she is engaged and and found her minuses and pushed a little bit on those minuses which she seemed to be appreciative of at the end and eventually she bloomed like a flower :)

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): I wasn’t planning to DJ for Patrik but then Becaus of some clients for tutoring opportunities that I wanted to meet I went to the Rockwood but unfortunately they weren’t there so I DJ-ed for Patrik. The class was great, Patrik brought in some coins to practice counting the coins. Learners were focused and concentrated during that activity to count the coins. We also had a new learner that may join us at the PPT-Connect!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): the class started not inside of the room #5 where we teach classes because the school had a staff meeting in there and they were suppose to finish before our class would start but it’s their second time finishing late so we had to start in the back next to that room. The class itself was good, Krysie has been working on her techniques of how to raise the energy and that day it was visible. Learners had fun with real-world materials related to the module healthy home!
