What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific: the class was awesome! great connection among students, laughing, we had fun with ordinal numbers, they’re really hard to pronounce so students struggled a little but it brought fun and energy into class. We ended at 11 am this time because it was the last day of the school program and also parents were called to a meeting and they had to go so I finished like I always do with ready 3 times and the class is over. It was the last day of this program in this term, hopefully we’re gonna get a chance to teach there again.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): the class started as usual with the alphabet sheet, then yell n spell, today’s lesson is. Then we worked on a map with listen and point activity, then we played a game like activity where students had to match names of streets, students were very competitive with that game, students were mixing the cards with the names of streets so that the other student won’t find it. We had fun with that activity. Although the classe’s level of energy wasn’t up to my standard, so a little bit lack of energy. Also one of the students left the class 30 minutes before we finished because of her kid. At the end I talked to students, if they would like to continue these classes, and they said yes and they like the morning schedule but maybe less hours they suggested.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): it was a great family-like, warm class.I went over many activities though I had to extend some of them because the class is 3 hours. Students found very useful to learn how to find streets on the map, in addition it was fun. Also students found very useful to learn ordinal numbers. I could see and feel that they’ve learned something that day, at the end they showed much enthusiasm and they were very thankful which I think is a good indicator that they’re gonna come back to the next class.

She was very helpful and eager to learn the techniques of teaching. We had a lot of fun with the Walgreen’s add. Sorry for the late update of the website!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This time it was a very small group only 4 people showed up. According to one of the students, a students who has been coming regularly got hit her head and she couldn’t come today. Another student is still sick, also was informed about that. Lots of questions from students about meaning of “What do you do” and what’s the difference between what are you doing? and what do you do? one of the questions was what’s new? a student said “nothing” students all wrote the word nothing down, for some reason students struggled writing “nothing” so the word stick to their mind, and we were talking about “nothing” for a few minutes and then at the end of the class a student asked another student in Spanish, so what did you learn? and the student said “nothing” we were cracking up about “nothing”

Students seemed to enjoy learning names of plants and being able to see all of the invasive plants pictures was a great opportunity to recognize some of them. A student recognized some of the plants like “morning glory” she said that the morning glory grows in Mexico too. lots of laughter. Unfortunately Gail won’t be able to come to our classes anymore, she got very busy. But she said that she enjoyed being in my classes and that she has learned many techniques and many useful information. Thank you Gail!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): we started 15 minutes late because we had only one student. Mark was chatting with the student then a librarian came and asked us if we could move to the small room because they needed the big room. According to Mark it was a difficult class to teach because we had a small number of students, in addition we had a student who was struggling with writing but I think Mark did a good job handling that situation. Mark basically filled the awkward time of silence with asking other students to repeat what they have written to each other. Great class!
