What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was a great class. I had an unexpected guest who was very nice. She wanted to learn techniques of teaching and generally is interested to teach English. She seemed to like the class and if I got it right she wants to join the program. The class itself was fun. I went over Alphabet sheet, yell n spell, dictation using my cell phone, TPR, round-robin. Students were engaged and connected.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): I think I had one of my best classes at Hall Elementary so far. We practiced a lot of real world materials related to maps and addresses. We did a decent amount of dictation which for some reason brought laughter, Students were very connected and very open to each other. A lot of talking and banter in English and Spanish among students. It was very fun to see them laughing. I had that magic moment when I froze looking at them and I said to myself “this is an amazing atmosphere right now”. One of the students is sick but she still comes and I said to her that I admire her dedication to this classes.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was a great class. In the beginning we had only 1 student then students started showing up and we ended up having 10 students. Mark brought a lot of tools related to kitchen and we practiced using those tools, it was a great real world materials. I have a suggestion, so at the of each class that I have been attending, some students especially new ones constantly ask “when is gonna be the next class?” although I understand that most of them are aware of when the next class will be because the library tell them or word of mouth, I still think that we should make cards where it’s written when the next class will be, at what location and at what time.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started a little bit late due to no students, it started 5 minutes late. Then students started showing up and eventually I end up having 8 students. the class itself was great. We had a lot of fun with the Listen and Point activity with a map, mainly because of the phrase ” Here it is ” because it was challenging to say that. I suggest with a lesson and point activity when students find what teachers said to find and point to, to say, “here it is” first asking each student “where is it?” then each student goes “here it is.”

Again I experimented with the tables, made them separated and I think it worked out well but I still believe that one long table is better than two separate in this class.
