She was glad that I got there to help being an assistant and colaborating with some ideas. I dont remember the other person that was shadowing today with us. De finished 10 min early, that was very inusual i doesnt really happens very often but i does. Sorry I forgot the lesson’s title.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This class began and ended on time. With so few learners, after Alphabet Listen and Point, we were able to speed up Yell and Spell, also incorporating individual last name spelling. Lesson title and fractions dictation were followed by Ruler Listen and Point, “How tall are you?” round robin, and dictation of the first 6 lines of “The Measurements Song”. A recording of the song was played. An enjoyable time was had by all.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
This was a dress rehearsal for Forrest. Good class. Could have slowed it down in some areas and taken more time in others (alphabet). Ended 15 minutes early. could have used visual aids, but coming up with appropriate ones for this module is a challenge. Humor helps. Students relaxed but responsive.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today was David’s silent class so I taught his lesson pan while he helped facilitate what went on in the classroom. Bill and Barbara were the assistants for this class and they were extremely helpful. The overall flow of the class was good although students seemed a little more puzzled than usual because of David’s silence. However, once students realized what was going on, they were very open to learning and receptive to my directions. I really enjoyed todays class.

Total: 41Class went very well. The lesson went smooth and there was great synergy in the classroom. Ramin brought in Walgreens newspaper ads and we did a really fun listen & point activity with it. The learners enjoyed the game-like nature of the activity. All of the assistants were busy the whole time. Everyone used each others names -Ramin’s technique is spot-on and it’s really great to watch him take control of a classroom and create the learning environment.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): First day of the money module. Class didn’t start until 6:15- there was a mix up about the rooms, the group that was in our room didn’t leave until 6:15. Learners trickled in by 20 after.. regardless, we were able to have a pretty solid class with a good mix of listening, writing and speaking. Lots of laughing during the “this is a…” activity. Good group!

Learners working together made it succeed. There was much laughter as well. A variety of activities were enjoyed by all: dictation, round robin on “How tall are you?”, practice writing fractions and finding inches on a ruler. A great time was had by all.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did alphabet listen and point. Ramin anticipated some late comers, so we postponed yelling and spelling our names until after we played a game. We divided the learners into teams of 2-3, and asked them to write down as many body parts as possible. Then, Ramin went around to each team and asked them to say and spell a body part. The team with the most correct body parts won the game. After yell and spell, we did document search with a medical history check list. We then did dictation with symptoms, such as “stuffy nose”. Next, we did round robin dictation: “I don’t feel well”. We ended with body part listen and point. It was a fun class and everyone was engaged!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was a fun class. We had 11 learners. Joshua started with alphabet sheet then we did yell n spell then we did dictation “today’s lesson is”. Before the class, we cut out some pictures of fruits, vegetables, clothes and we cut out also their prices and we did a dictation related to them first, then we did Round Robin with them, everyone had fun with it.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This was a little awkward today.. we went to the bigger room, but the group was a little smaller – but still a good group. Because we started off small, I began the class with dictation about how I usually don’t get sick.. We looked at the family medical history. Barbara brought apples and that helped me think of the title of the lesson! Reflection not very good because we lost access to the forum and it’s been several days since the class.

Total: 37Class went well. All levels were appropriately challenged. After warm up activities we did price dictation and a few two sentence dialogues. After that we did a word search with advertisements. We had one new learner who spoke English very well, but was unable to read or write. It was difficult to break her sense of shame for struggling to write and to get her actively participating with the others, but she responded well to reassurances and positive reenforcement. I hope she comes back.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
This class began and ended on time. A variety of activities followed, despite the distractions of one learner’s children, use of a larger, unfamiliar classroom, and the frequent need to rethink activities due to the group’s skill level. The class was further complicated by the late arrival of several learners. Our activities included a song, dictation, and round robin, ruler listen and point, all teaching some aspect of measurement.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had a very fun class. we went over alphabet sheet, yell n spell, then “today’s lesson is called ‘an arm and a leg'” then, Benjamin yelled out dollar amounts and learners had to write numbers not letters and it seemed like the learners struggled with some numbers for example $ 50.15 and $ 15.50. We had a lot of fun with round-robin activity. the learners thanked personally Benjamin and his assistants at the end of the class.
