What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
Overall, the class went well. The class only had two students, which made it easier to give students personal attention. Julie, Barbara and I had a talk after class about what could have been improved and there were a few things that stood out. Firstly we all agreed that there could have been more variation in the activities we did. While I commend Julie for getting through her entire lesson plan, I would have liked to have seen more activities with illustrations and activities that required students to get out of their seats. Also, one of the learners was struggling with copying and singing the lyrics to the song Merry Christmas which we spent a lot of time on. I think cutting this activity a little shorter would have made the learner feel better about them self and played on some of their other strengths. On another note, I felt that Julie did a very good job stylistically and has improved a great deal since I last saw her teach.December 12, 2014 at 6:57 pm #4530KasPermissionarySpectatorLesson Title: Trim The Tree

This was Ramin’s first silent class. He came very prepared with a solid lesson plan. We worked together to facilitate a successful class. We began with the standard lesson activities. We next moved into a listen-point activity. We went over an image with several holiday words artistically arranged. We also did an activity where we talked about what kind of items we might want for Christmas. We ended with Frosty The Snowman. Despite Ramin’s silence we were able to facilitate a great class. Ramin was able to effectively keep me focused on the PPT methods and appropriate facilitation and direct the class.

This was Ramin’s 2nd silent class. Again, we were able to work together successfully to facilitate a great class despite Ramin’s silence. We began the lesson with the standard activities and moved on to a “This Is An Apple” activity with holiday themes. We also did an activity where we wrote holiday greeting cards and went over how to address them. We finished with the song “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”
