She was very friendly and helpful in the class, helping her mom out. We went outside and practiced English about the trees and plants, and then discovered little swales where the runoff goes, and played a pronunciation game with the spinning letters on the play structure. Then we went in and explored the language around vaccines.

    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): this was a challenging class.. one, I was tired, and it seemed that others were too. Two, there were two people who had already been to my class in the afternoon, and then 3 brand new people, and the level difference was extreme.. I ended up trying to dictate/tell a story about the april fools joke that my partner played on me, but it just fell flat.

    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): a good group.. three brand new folks, and still working with 3 other newbies, who are still getting used to the rhythm.. as a result, definitely moves slower with less cohesion, but was able to get folks organized soon enough. two couples came. There were moments where a spanish speaker and a russian speaker were totally cracking up together. Found out they have a different word for throat in Colombia!

They were a little difficult to get working together at first, as it often is at the beginning of a term, but by the end, they were saying, thank you, great teacher. a bit surprising because pushing back with the russian speakers doesn’t always work! also, several folks interested in coming to the worker center

It was fun, and we had several shadowers, and now the group was a little more together, and so it went pretty well. It definitely shifted from more disorganization to more coordination. Worked with Freddy’s ad circular and built off the prior week.
