    How Many Learners: 10

    Poise: Charlie Brown (1) vs. Prince (10) = 6
    Reflection: “It was ok.” (1) vs. Life-changing Epiphany (10) = 6

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was a fun class. Learners helped each other. We also had a new learner today. She was helped and supported by others. Moreover, we did questions which had some minimal pairs. It worked very well because learners were aware of differences when they pronounced those minimal pairs. The songs also was interesting. Learners seemed enjoyable with a dictation from a lyric.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): again, smallish group, half were new. This makes the class difficult to get going, because everyone’s figuring out the system. Also, the bureaucratic language was not engaging, adding to the slogging feel. However, I did write a lesson for the first time in literally years, and I was early.

This class was not my best, fo sho! I think the learners had fun asking each other what social media they used and showing me apps on their phones, but I had to sit down halfway through the class because I felt really dizzy. I know this is not my fault, but there were two new learners who may have thought I was lazy or they may have been bored. We are our own worst critics! I DID give them all chocolate, so maybe they’ll be back! Who knows!?

Somehow, I ended up with 700,000 Facebook friends! We played a raucous game of Scrabble Scramble–MEXICO V. RUSSIA edition. (Mexico prevailed) :) Fun lively class!! Two new learners!!! :)
