The facilitator then went through the abc’s, then we wrote down the title of the lesson. We followed that up with writing and reading what we wrote aloud, and with naming different items and practicing dialogue with those around the room.

Then we wrote down the title of the lesson and a few sentences pertaining to winter, such as “In Portland, a little bit of snow can be a big problem.” After writing practice, we passed around the various winter clothing items and repeated after Daniel on what they were. We practiced a bit of English conversation in between as well. To wrap it up, we read some sections of an article about snow in Portland from the Oregonian.

I did notice that the technique that PPT uses was hardly used at all (for example the use of “ready?” wasn’t used much at all and instead of having the learners work together for the answer, they were told to look at what the assistants/shadowers/MC/DJ had written)
