We also had a new learner today. She was helped and supported by others. Moreover, we did questions which had some minimal pairs. It worked very well because learners were aware of differences when they pronounced those minimal pairs. The songs also was interesting. Learners seemed enjoyable with a dictation from a lyric.

Students engaged with a lesson very well. Especially, when we learned about Michale Cohen, students really liked a video that Holly gave us for a dictation part. Students were confused with some words, but Holly pushed them tried to write by themselves first before we corrected them.

Although some words were quite difficult, they tried to help each other. Moreover, Francine had a role-play activity about remaining silent. Learners were fun and enjoyable with a role-play that Francine was a police. When she asked some questions, learners would remain silent. In the end of the class, we had watched a video about how to do when ICE approach us. We had a pronunciation activity by repeating what a video said.

Zadok applied TPR activities with a lesson very well. He also used a game with TPR too. Learners seemed to get confused, but a game activity could get their energy and attention.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): There were two new learners today. They could go along with other people very well. We did a survey from PSU. It was so much fun for them. Some people who were beginner seemed to struggle with some topics. For example, special shopping parts seemed to be confused because we did not know it included clothes or only appliances. However, the learners were fun and engaged with other topics such as entertainment. The survey showed that they all went to work and school often, so they could discuss about their results in the survey.

Today, we did the Trimet survey, and Sam made the survey to follow easily. Learners were fun to do it. The survey also made an opportunity for learners to share their life to each other.

Today, I was a learner because there were many shadowers, so there were 6 learners including me. However, Patrik could make a class was fun. He could manage 2 shadowers for 1 learner. We have learned about a city in Oregon. We had opportunities to talk about a city which we have been before. We have also learned about how to set a tent. Patrik brought a tent and showed us how to do it with dictation. However, after spelling our name, learners enjoyed with lesson and game activity. They engaged and participated a lot because of Santiago’s energy. We had a lot of fun in a class. Afterwards, we had time to eat some snacks and chatted to each other.

The lesson’s today was attractive, so learners were fun with it. Especially, when we talked about fruit leathers, Brian brought some of them to the class for try. Learners enjoyed with them.
