    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Learners kept showing up until they capped off at 19, with five first-timers. This required a lot of adaptation from the MC, who lead us through a lesson plan about nontoxic cleaners. A highlight was Bingo cards that the class filled out via dictation of nontoxic cleaning items, with a real life model of the item shown to the class by the MC.

    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did a listen and point on an info sheet with natural cleaning recipes. Then we did some round robins with white vinegar and baking soda. Then we did a bunch of say and do around cleaning the house – polish the furniture, fold the laundry, sweep the floor, vacuum the carpet, change the lightbulb, clean the windows. That was a fun and really active part of the class. We finished with a couple of dictation sentences and had people saying them one at a time as fast as they can, which caused lots of laughter. Fun class! Amber shadowed us from the carpenter’s union, and she is very motivated to introduce our learners to the apprenticeship opportunities. I would love to work with her to create a lesson around it, and maybe do a field trip to the training center???

    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): I went to buy different apples (granny smith, gala, red delicious apple) to use as the real world material, and got stuck in traffic so I was late 3 min to the class. The class itself was very fun. We used different apples to do “this is an apple activity” and dictation about apples. Learners had a lot of fun

    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was my first time teaching at King elementary, I showed up to this class at 5:55PM so I had 5 minutes to find the materials for the class and to show to the shadower what to do during the class. Despite the chaotic beginning, I was able to get learners’ interest with the materials that I brought, and engage them in general.

    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was Conall’s gentle intervention experience. I have pointed out several technical issues and Conall learned very quickly how to perform them. It was conall’s first time working with such a large group of learners.
