Date of Class: Aug 27, 2019
    Time of Class: 6:00 PM
    MC: ThitichayaThaiGood
DJ: MC Entered attendance, no DJ
    Assistants/Shadowers/Auditioner:
    Module: Happy Holidays (Summer fun)
    How Many Learners: 13
Materials Status (loyalty cards, alphabet sheets, etc):

    Self Evaluation

Preparation: Forgot to Show Up (1) vs. Every Hair In Place (10) = 4
Technique: Completely Incompetent (1) vs. Flawless Delivery (10) = 4
Engagement: Snoring Loudly (1) vs. Absolutely Riveted (10) = 5
    Connection: Open Hostility (1) vs. Kumbayah (10) = 5
    Poise: Charlie Brown (1) vs. Prince (10) = 5
    Reflection: “It was ok.” (1) vs. Life-changing Epiphany (10) = 4

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had new 3 learners, and it was a big class as well. Also, we had topics that we could share our ideas. Learners seemed to be curious to know more about their classmates’ ideas. Although the copy machine was broken, so I could not use what I prepared, I had to use materials in a library that turned out to be useful and practical as well.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Laura covered a lot of helpful concepts. She used realia which really set her class apart from others I have witnessed. What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today, we did a verbal scavenger hunt. The MC said sentences, and learners dictated and guessed what it was. It was an interesting activity because learners enjoyed writing those clues and guesses what it was. Also, we did a bingo game as well, so learners could learn more difficult words through a game. The MC also had a recorded voicemail for making an appointment to set up a parent-teacher conference which was helpful. Learners listened to the voicemail from the MC, dictated sentence by sentence, and practiced speaking those sentences.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We learned about the map in downtown. The MC taught how to read the streets’ name and practiced pronunciation. The MC gave commands and directions. Learners dictated them down and practiced to give directions to the class, and this activity was TPR. We worked as a partner first, and then as a group. One was blindfolded and got a direction to find an object that the MC placed in a class, and another one gave directions that we dictated. It was a fun activity because learners could learn and remember while playing a game.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This was my first class all alone with 10 people – it was harder than I expected. I rely so heavily on having helpers to make the dictation go smoother, and to make for more lively round robins, etc. It felt a little less vibrant without other helpers! We looked at the PPS school calendar, wrote down my daughter’s freshman schedule and then round robined “What do you have 2nd period?” etc. Then round robined with different school supplies “Can I borrow a ______?”
