Reflection: “It was ok.” (1) vs. Life-changing Epiphany (10) = 7What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today we discussed Congress’s impeachment inquiry. The lesson included vocabulary related to impeachment and a fun listening activity. Students were mostly engaged and enthusiastic. There was a wide spread in learner levels, but overall the class moved swiftly and there weren’t super long periods of advanced students waiting for beginner students. The listening activity incorporated some TPR, which was a great way to break up today’s writing and give learners a change of pace. We had some tech trouble, but MC Daniel kept things moving smoothly.

Lesson Title: Cleaning up around the house
Date of Class: Oct 09, 2019
Time of Class: 2:00 PM
MC: AmandaAdventurousTraveler
DJ: MC Entered attendance, no DJ
Assistants/Shadowers/Auditioner: Amber, Judy
Module: Healthy Homes
How Many Learners: 10
Materials Status (loyalty cards, alphabet sheets, etc):Self Evaluation
Preparation: Forgot to Show Up (1) vs. Every Hair In Place (10) = 7
Technique: Completely Incompetent (1) vs. Flawless Delivery (10) = 7
Engagement: Snoring Loudly (1) vs. Absolutely Riveted (10) = 8

Poise: Charlie Brown (1) vs. Prince (10) = 6
Reflection: “It was ok.” (1) vs. Life-changing Epiphany (10) = 6What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did a listen and point on an info sheet with natural cleaning recipes. Then we did some round robins with white vinegar and baking soda. Then we did a bunch of say and do around cleaning the house – polish the furniture, fold the laundry, sweep the floor, vacuum the carpet, change the lightbulb, clean the windows. That was a fun and really active part of the class. We finished with a couple of dictation sentences and had people saying them one at a time as fast as they can, which caused lots of laughter. Fun class! Amber shadowed us from the carpenter’s union, and she is very motivated to introduce our learners to the apprenticeship opportunities. I would love to work with her to create a lesson around it, and maybe do a field trip to the training center???
