What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): The use of the skeleton song (dem bones) was harder than I expected, as many of the names of bones were difficult. I use a small skeleton for a visual aid.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had only one student today. Fedora called a number of students and learned that the lack of attendance appears to be related to busy schedules and the fact that the school schedule is fractured for the week and the month.
We should discuss the student to assistant ratio. We had a DJ and MC today as well as an assistant (Patricia). Two other assistants (both of whom do other volunteer work at the school) did not stay for class, per agreement by all. In most of our class we have had 4-5 students and 5 DJ/MC/ assistants. That ratio may be overbearing or intimidating to the students and may be counterproductive.
Note that because there was only one student, we deviated from the curriculum but concentrated on the alphabet and chorale response.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This is a good class and likely will stay at about 8 students per class through the summer, unless Manny recruits more. We lost 3 learners from last week, unfortunately lower proficiency. I hope the class last week was not too intimidating. We’ll see next week if they return or we have new students. The “happy hour” at 6 was more like dead time. I suggest either a 6:00 or 6:30 start time (I think the latter is better for most in the class) and to do away with happy hour unless it improves.
