We began with having a dinner that was provided by two of the learners. We spoke in English about the ingredients and the preparation of the food. Then we went through the alphabet drills. We used a library pamphlet as material to base our next activity: the word search. We went through the pamphlet and identified words and phrases, especially those that stood out. Then we wrote an email to one of the librarians at the Beaverton Library. We plan to have a field trip to the nearby library in the upcoming weeks. This email was a brief introduction of the class. Those with access the email were encouraged to contact the librarian while copying the instructor as a homework exercise.
