What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): There were few vocabularies from dictation that wasn’t understood by learners so they looked up the translations at various times. Even then, some understanding was still not fully comprehended on more abstract vocabularies like ‘camouflage’.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Only one learner showed up on time but then left thinking the class was cancelled, only to return 15 minutes later. There was a bit of unfamiliarity between the learner and the MC since it’s MC’s first time at this location, but overall, it went well and the session ended with more open-ended discussions in general.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Learners were working in groups of two most of the time which works out just fine because in both groups, there’s one higher-level learner helping a lower-level learner. MC was very high-spirited and engaged in periodic chit chat to keep the class in similar high spirit.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Learners showed up a few minutes late. We did more vocabulary of various clothing and dictation sentences were also centered around these clothing. Both learners speak Spanish so they occasionally converse in their native language. We ended the class doing coloring where learners had a chance to do more verbal practice of clothing and different type of colors.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): All learners were new and from the local community. One of the learners left (and never returned) by the time alphabet sheet was finished due to the child he brought along needed additional attention and was distracting other learners. More than half of the learners had difficulty writing words, let alone sentences, and this difficulty stems not from their lack of confidence, but rather their lower level literacy skills.
Although the dictation was toned down by a lot, it was still evident in the disparity of the levels and how it’s affecting the learning dynamics of the whole group.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started about 10 minutes late due to logistics change in the last minute. As a result, alphabet sheet was skipped, and in preparation for doing the Trimet survey online, we started by doing dictation questions on modes of transportation for each learner. One of the learners arrived late but in time for the survey. Since all the learners speak Spanish, at times, they explained to each other in Spanish about the survey. As the class wasn’t a formal one, there was a bit more side chatter unrelated to the survey, but most of the interactions were still in English.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):The classroom didn’t get filled up until 15 after 6, near the end of the alphabet sheet. There was a brand new learner who had a personal friend there to assist throughout the whole class. The whole class was fully engaged with the word search and learning different type of Social Media. Not all learners know what social media is but learners help each other as usual so it worked out well. As most of the learners know each other, a lot of sharing and connection happened throughout the entire session.
