What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started about 10 minutes late due to logistics change in the last minute. As a result, alphabet sheet was skipped, and in preparation for doing the Trimet survey online, we started by doing dictation questions on modes of transportation for each learner. One of the learners arrived late but in time for the survey. Since all the learners speak Spanish, at times, they explained to each other in Spanish about the survey. As the class wasn’t a formal one, there was a bit more side chatter unrelated to the survey, but most of the interactions were still in English.

Regarding Survey- I need to use FedEx, and Excel is not a support file format for printing, and took me 2o minutes using a laptop and my cell phone acting as a internet hub to be able to print it off successfully. Font was illegibly small. Activity shouldn’t be the first line, but in line with the dates. What does clothing shopping count as? What is “errands”? Shopping and errands was a weird distinction. What is “household”? Specialty shopping is weird, students seemed to have an idea what it meant but not for certain. Didn’t get to Means of Travel section. Should Sunday be the Sunday of yesterday or Sunday the week before?2018-11-14 at 19:55 #10633laurel evansSpectatorLesson Title: Trimet

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Survey 3 notes
#2: checked a different answer than reported verbally
#3: Student answer wasn’t on the survey (daytimes during weekends in general)
#4: Learner confused by dropbox
#6: accidently went back to question #4
#7: Needs clarity on which answer was for the response “both”
note: survey displayed differently on learners device IChrome on Android) from mine (Chrome on Pixel)
Multiple line questions: learner would lose her place fairly easy
#10 question 2: conceptually hard to understand initially
#11: Lots of confusion over what “people like me” is supposed to mean.
#14: Why is “in years” necessary (confused learner)
#22: What exactly is a “household”? All people living in a house or folks with more than formal/friendship relations?
#25: Learner does not work from a centralized location
The word “rate” was confusing, though the examples seemed it make it make sense2018-12-03 at 19:39 #10679laurel evansSpectatorLesson Title: Christmal Carol
