Today in class Ethan dictated ordinal numbers to students, from 1-30 and had students practice cardinal directions (ex. N, NW, etc). He then had the learners put those numbers to use by finding street locations on a map, ex. sw 5th st. These two activities worked really well together, creating one cohesive lesson. Great class Ethan!Brenna EspinozaSpectatorLesson Title: December 7th is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Today was the second of Monica’s silent classes, so rather than do things like saying the letters on the alphabet sheet, she signed them to the students. She also had the class read a passage about military uniforms, followed by a T/F worksheet. By nature, the silent class format forces the students (and DJ/Assistants) to pay even more attention to the MC. Overall it was a great class!Brenna EspinozaSpectatorLesson Title: Christmas Wish List

There was a bit of confusion as to when the last night of class was, so 2 of our 3 learners showed up a bit late but they made it. Ethan brought good energy to the group, doing some dictation with “Santa Clause is Coming to Town”. After the dictation, we watched a YouTube video of the song and sang through it together. Nice class Ethan!Brenna EspinozaSpectatorLesson Title: Saying Grace

Tonight was Ethan’s dress rehearsal. We only had two learners show up tonight so it took a little longer than usual to bring up the energy level for the group. Once we had a good energy level established the learners relaxed and opened up a little more. This gave Ethan a little more to work with so by the halfway point of the class, the group was laughing and having a good time. The learners also seemed to enjoy the hand gestures that Ethan made up for our “kitchen verbs” activity. Nice start Ethan!Brenna EspinozaSpectatorLesson Title: Money Talks

There were a couple times when the energy level dipped, but for the most part the class was very engaged. Learners had a lot of fun practicing dialogue, saying “This is a penny” “A what?” “A penny!”.Brenna EspinozaSpectatorLesson Title: Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk

Towards the end of class had some dictation practice with one of the learners giving an ingredient list for Thanksgiving stuffing.
