What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was very engaged. I showed my pictures of Africa to my class. I felt like I could do that because I have such a close relationship with them. I think it helped the engagement of the class. I also used a lot of english words and vocabulary as I showed them my pictures of my family and Africa.

I would do some of the letters verbally and she would point to some of them while the students said them. Then we learned names of certain types of trees. Passes the pics around the circle, and did gestures to help remember them. We finished by watching a movie on planting trees and did a document search from the video. Great class.

Then we did a document search. Finally we passed around the apples and with this is a what… we ended with the principal talking to the family about their needs from the school and from the community. After it was over everyone stayed and ate apples and it felt like a community :) Awesome class!

We spent a lot of time in the beginning with the alphabet sheet and names. Then we did a dictation about emergency preparedness. We did a this is a bandaid, a what? a bandaid. Oh a bandaid. We did that with about 5 more objects from the first aid kit. Then we did a few more dictation exercises and then finished with acting out emergency preparedness for earthquakes with hand motions. Overall it was a productive and fun class!

We did a document search on a few different types of maps of Oregon, using the same vocabulary from the song. Then the students described certain locations on the map. We ended with writing down sentences using the vocabulary. Great class!

Nobody showed up tonight. We normally have 2 students that come and they both called me before the class started and said they would not be there. I still went anyway just in case new students came. I waited till 6:30 and when nobody came, I locked up and left. Both of the students said they couldn’t come because they had to work late. They said they will be back on Monday :)

She started with a word search document and then we looked at the different plants on a sheet of paper and passed it around as we named the different plants. Then we ended with a conversation about the plants. Overall great class.

Then we ended it pairing up and having a conversation where the other person would have to repeat the sentence perfectly.
