What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class went well, We had a bit of complications since both rooms were being used, we had to wait about 20 minutes to start class, we had a special guest Irena Kobald who wrote a book name my two blankets, she made a beautiful presentation as to how anyone feels when we go to another country and try to learn the language and the different stages we go through to achieve our goals, we took pictures everyone was engaged , and when she was done, we continue with the class, people were laughing and happy. we finished on time, we should have at hand some kind of schedule of the classes given by PPT with the box.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was good, we had the big room enough space for everyone to sit, we had a small celebration as the people who participated in the Festival of Nations were mentioned and also received some compensation for their efforts and contributions, everyone applauded and were happy to have been part of that, some of them were still talking about the food. one of the students wanted a letter statement from the MC ,at this time she directed her towards the director of the program since writing a statement can implicate legal consequences, she was advised to bring those issues to the person in charge, class started on time and ended on time.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was small but as always more people arrived later, everyone was engaged, and laughing, sometimes students want to know more about a word or a concept, in this case gardens and what do you grow, they engage the helpers or each other seeking more info this was an interesting conversation since most of the learners have gardens…

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was good, people were engaged but had difficulty with two learners,, one did not wanted to be part of the group but was working on his own (he does this all the time), and the other one, a female (felt offended when Dj directed her to look at someone else’s written phrase so that she could copy it and know that is ok to do this,, since is part of the we help each other plan) but is seems that for some new learners is difficult to copy from someone else, is challenging, even though she got very angry at the DJ..and ranted for a bit, the MC did a great job when she asked her How we could make the situation better for her, that our interest was to make things easier not more difficult, she the MC like a master disabled that ticking bomb ..class ended up with a song and everyone was happy..

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was good, energy level was up, most of the learners where high level writers, and the lower level learners needed more help, it would of been better to have students share their work and help their classmates instead of the shadows trying to spell words for each of the slower writers this takes away the opportunity for the interaction among them..feedback to the helpers and shadowers as to what their role is in class may be needed.. and we appreciate all the help.Lesson Title: Wash your hands

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Dress Rehearsal for Grace, class was a lot of fun people were very engaged, Grace was very confident, and well prepared, she gave frequent affirmations, and positive feedback kept us busy and we were laughing, we had a student who came in the middle of the class his name is Joseph he appeared to be intoxicated, was a tad disruptive but we kept the lid on, and moved and stayed on task, he did leave before class ended, overall very fun class. Great job Grace…and this is the last class as an assistant for Kelsey Wolff, she is going to South Korea next week, we have had a lot of fun, it has been a pleasure to work with her, I wish her the best in this new journey. we will miss you.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Well it was a very unusual day it was about six o’clock and nobody had showed up yet, when here comes strolling in Cuc our faithful Cuc and we waited a few minutes and there came Doan and Linh, so class began and we were having fun, soon 2 new people arrive and a little bit later 2 more so we had 4 new students and they seem to have enjoyed the sugar cookies the got to eat at the end of class of course after a lot of writing and pronouncing lots of words that named everyday items , they are familiar with, but didn’t know how to use now they know how to make COOKIES… awesome ..everyone was smiling and engaged,, good class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): The class was big there were 18 students, we were in the small room there were some people that were sitting behind other classmates, we kept bringing chairs from the other room, this was a tad disruptive but we achieved we had 4 helpers they were very efficient at their tasks, everyone was engaged and lively very fun class, it seems that the big room is going to be occupied often, I was thinking that maybe removing the big table and setting the small tables and arranging them as needed would occupy less space and more people could be sitting at the narrower tables and we would use that small space more efficiently with the big square table gone,, anyway just thinking out loud…also we need attendance cards and pencils if someone can make it happen it will be greatly appreciated……

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Well Arien was supposed to be the MC, but I guess he got stranded because of work, and I had to become it, I had seen the deck of professions with Krysie and thought to do that, brainstorm a little and came up with a great activity, dialogue and dictation, they all enjoy the work, Jamie was a great help as well as Cuc, since we had two fairly new Vietnamese students and she helped a lot with transitions they were very involved, so I appreciated the help and also Kelsy is always a great addition to the class ,, thanks to all…

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This was Krysie’s Silent class I (Yani) had to be her voice, it was challenging but we came out from it with flying colors ands lots of satisfaction, everyone was engaged and smiling a lot rediscovering the letter through the sign language was something everyone was really curious about, and eagerly were participating, Great Job Krysie!!!
