What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Dress Rehearsal for Grace, class was a lot of fun people were very engaged, Grace was very confident, and well prepared, she gave frequent affirmations, and positive feedback kept us busy and we were laughing, we had a student who came in the middle of the class his name is Joseph he appeared to be intoxicated, was a tad disruptive but we kept the lid on, and moved and stayed on task, he did leave before class ended, overall very fun class. Great job Grace…and this is the last class as an assistant for Kelsey Wolff, she is going to South Korea next week, we have had a lot of fun, it has been a pleasure to work with her, I wish her the best in this new journey. we will miss you.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It’s nearly a week since this class happened – and the attendance sheet I wrote on didn’t have the date or the participants, and I can’t really even remember what happened. It wasn’t a great class, but it was big! Barbara and I held it together.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
The class started promptly at 6:00 with the alphabet sheet and followed by yell and spell with first and last names. To help the students get energized we did “head, shoulders, knees and toes,” and reviewed North, South, East, and West. For the next hour we worked a lot on writing down the dictation for the safety procedures on receiving your food handlers card. The group worked well together and helped each other the entire time. We ended the class with a fun activity where they had to listen and follow Yani’s instructions about where to stand in the room. Overall a very successful class.August 28, 2015 at 5:02 pm #6072WilLIAM SeeSpectatorLesson Title:”Welcome to the United States of America”

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We welcomed our seven women guests from the Ukraine, all of whom arrived early as promised. Their host agent arrived prior to them, and was very anxious to be sure we were well-acquainted with who they were. I learned that they were sponsored into this country through the U.S. State Dept. and go on from here to MInneapolis; arrived here from D.C. There was a great deal of chuckling banter about the list of American holidays and the role playing portion of President Barack Obama. All interacted well with one another.
Janet G. did a very fine job of including the Ukrainian women, integgrating them fully into class participation.September 1, 2015 at 9:44 am #6077KilpatrickRelentlessListenerKeymasterLesson Title: Good to the Last Drop

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): The largest class we’ve had at Rockwood in quite a while! Super exciting for that reason. The maps stayed on the tables for the entire time, but we barely actually used them, except at the very end. 7 random newcomers came, and the class turned from exploring the language of the water system to how much water do you drink every day.. and then exploration of gallon, pint, ounce, etc. Very nice flow (ha ha) for that reason, but technically a tangent.

Other than that, we worked A lot on one-on-one pronunciation dialogues and an interactive map. It was interesting to me to observe how to handle small size classes.
