What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):

We started with the alphabet sheet and during the process the MC made the DJ aware that they should not be repeating things after the MC but that the MC should be the only one speaking for this exercise so that the learners are focused on his/her voice and the MC can tell who is understanding or not, if the sequences need to be repeated or reviewed then the MC handles that. We then went to names and added the addition of last names to the mix so that people learned each others first and last names. From this we went to dictation and at that point the DJ and volunteer were asked to repeat dictation phrases and assist with that. There was a lot of choral response and then going around to each learner to give them the chance to ask the question or answer it. We then made a circle and did a body part exercise and followed that with a song that connected to the motions. This was also done towards the end of the class with the change of pointing to a part but naming it something else to see if the learners were paying attention and could catch the “mistake” we also did some general word actions and also an exercise that physically demonstrated behind, in front of , next to, etc. I thought this was an interesting exercise that could be used with many variations. When they were seated we did a document search exercise which became a small competition to see who could find words first and everybody seemed to be having a lot of fun with that. We finished with some more physical activity and a string of verb acting and movement. This class used a lot more physical activity learning than I had seen in other classes which I thought was an interesting method.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class was good, people were engaged but had difficulty with two learners,, one did not wanted to be part of the group but was working on his own (he does this all the time), and the other one, a female (felt offended when Dj directed her to look at someone else’s written phrase so that she could copy it and know that is ok to do this,, since is part of the we help each other plan) but is seems that for some new learners is difficult to copy from someone else, is challenging, even though she got very angry at the DJ..and ranted for a bit, the MC did a great job when she asked her How we could make the situation better for her, that our interest was to make things easier not more difficult, she the MC like a master disabled that ticking bomb ..class ended up with a song and everyone was happy..

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Patrik used the deck of professions in an interesting way, he basically said who the person on the card is then he talked about that persons life achievements in third person mode. So, students got to practice third person tense. Also we had a new lovely learner, she felt very comfortable being in the class and because her writing is advanced she started helping others.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This lesson felt like a lot of fun games and everybody seemed to enjoy it. We did a game like pictionary and then one that was similar to concentration because they had to remember things in a specific order, we also did a game where a type of food was called out and they had to go to a corner of the room that represented that food. It was very interesting that we had a bit of trouble spelling tomato. Seems that some folks think it has an (e) on it so I looked it up and didn’t really find anything that had an oe other than when it was possessive as in tomatoes. Everybody enjoyed the class and had a lot of fun

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This class is growing. Grace used very effectively several standard tools: hammer, pliers, measuring tape and nail along with printed cards illustrating these work categories: plumber, carpenter, housekeeper, electrician. There was repetition (round robin style) for all to participate, then standing up and moving around the room for various positions: next to, behind, in front of. All seemed to join in and participate.
