What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started with some dictation. The students noted down some vocabulary that is in news these days. That started a good discussion about the problems the students faced coming to a new country and how they have been dealing with it. They shared their stories and their opinions. Since we had only two students, both high level, and both wanting to talk, we let the discussion continue throughout the calss. As they talked, Grace and I helped them with certain words or phrases they did not understand.
