What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started with the alphabet sheet and Charlie took it further by dictating some complicated numbers and word groups. Next we did everybody’s names and the title of the lesson. Charlie had brought a new and very engaging activity plan which had some famous president’s and their respective political parties. This was followed by a dictation exercise in which the students had to fill in some blanks in the prewritten dialogues. This was followed by a choral repetition of these dialogues. The students were engaged and entertained throughout the class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We startedwith the alphabet sheet and dictation of some complicated number sets and moved on to name yell and spell. Then the MC dictated the title of today’s class. New students kept walking in throughout the class but were welcomed and taken care of. Next we did a word search and dialogue practice regarding emergencysituations. MC handed out emergency contact cards as an example of what things look like in the real world. We ended the class with a moderated group conversation.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
We started with the Alphabet sheet and moved on to yell and spell with names. Next we did a dictaion exercise and even though there were more assistants than usual, we all felt very busy. This was followed by a search and find, and a dialogue sequence which we practiced several times. MC had brought pictures of some women’s suffrage activists with a small bio about them. Each student had to read out his/her respective bio aloud and the assistants helped them do it. At the end we took time to break up into small groups and do a conversation round about anything that people wanted to discuss and talk about.

Next, we had the dictation exercise which comprised of some Halloween facts. We also did a document search with an interesting Halloween timeline sheet. Then we had a reading exercise with facts about various monsters (with pictures). The class ended with a 7-10min open discussion.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): There was some confusion at the library with a convention going on so we had fewer students today, and even they came in quite late. All three students were very high level so we started with introductions and dictations. Charlie had some dialogues with some missing words in between. After dictating it, we practiced the dialogues one by one. We then moved on to the listen and find activity for which we used the Bill of Rights’ preamble. We ended the class with a choral response activity.

There were two dictation exercises including the class lesson, along with choral response. Estefania played a small video about the Bill of Rights and we did a document search following it. After that, we had a speech exercise with the articles of the Bill of Rights. We concluded with a listen and do exercise followed by a five minute moderated conversation time.

We moved on to spell and yell with names and then had a small dictation exercise. We also had a document search with the USA map and short dialogue practices regarding the Democrats and Republicans. The dialogues were dictated beforehand so that the students were at ease while speaking. The class was wrapped up with moderated chats in small groups. Debbie’s friend came towards the end and she helped us with assisting the class but I forgot to get her name down.

We then moved to a conversation piece which included both dictation and oral recitation. Next, Charlie introduced the title of today’s lesson and we had a dictation exercise regarding the subject which also included a few props. Then we did a listen and do activity and finally ended the class with a 10minute monitered group conversation.

Next was a find and point exercise with an article about small talk. It was followed by dictation. He then had the students practice some phrases regarding small talk about weather. Finally there was a communication exercise followed by a small, moderated free-talk session.
