Then he had a jar of coins (such as quarters, half dollar, silver dollar, susan b. Anthony dollar. etc..) and did a dictation “This a quarter” “A what?!” “a quarter” oh! a quarter” went around the table then did role play with a script and had them write it down and repeat with him and with each other. lastly memorized names and had volunteers to name everybody. Great class and a great way to start of the term!! losts of laughters and smiles!

Started off with having them write down alphabets, introduced items such as top roman, tomato sauce, and seasoned salt etc. Had them write down random words from ingredients such as Corn starch, sodium, puree etc.. Then had them write down and practice “how much sodium is in that?” response was “There is 5grams of sodium in seasoned salt” In previous classes Veronica and Laura (students) were talking about putting Lemon and Chile on their fruit and they decided to bring a whole of fruit and lemon and Chile. Overall it was a really great class!

Next was “This is a ___ A what? A ___ oh! A ___” had them go around. Brought food to celebrate our last day and it was fun overall.

Second unplanned lesson. started off with skywriting abc’s and I had them each do the skywriting. next I started with talking about nutrition and asking each person what was different with fruits and veggies from Mexico and here and the students got so into the topic that we started talking about immigration and I introduced them to the book I am reading “Devils Highway” and I had them each read a page and they really enjoyed and I went back on track to nutrition and we started talking about how much grains, fruits, veggies, and diary were supposed to have in our body had them write it down. veronica asked a really good question about how they can get their kids to eat healthy and I told her that I would find some tips for them to work with next week. I also had them each write down what they usually eat. It was a really great class and I’m looking forward to next week!.

We had a guest speaker Maureen from OSU with the health and science program. First off I started with Abc’s and then yell and spell. Next Brooke took over and introduced the Blender, spatula, measuring spoons/cups etc.. and had them write down a recipe that Maureen brought and had the two learners write it down. After we made the smoothie. Which was AMAZING! after the smoothies Maureen brought of the color of the rainbow and how each color can help a certain body part and the two learners were really amazed and so they immediately wrote it down. Overall class was great and so Maureen coming in and learning about all the fruits and veggies.

I did my first unplanned lesson and it went better than I thought. since all three students were high level I tried to focus on them and do more challenging stuff such as grabbing a book that I believe was for 5th graders and each person read one page and everyone else would pencil point to each word and making sure they were following along and the words that they got stuck on we would work on it and pronounce it together and one by one would repeat the word. I was hoping that Shoshanna would of handed me an actually paper for the students to read but instead she gave me questions so I tried tying in the book with the questions and it went really great. lastly we had a child sing a song from Frozen and after she sang everyone wrote it and we all sang it together.

This class was by far the best ive ever done. I started off with skywriting with ABC, then I had everyone go around yell and spell there first and last name and after that they would spell each others name. Next I had them write down “do you like math, history, writing etc..” had them go around ask each other and I had Veronica and Laura (High level students) tell a story about their kids and subject they like and had them right it down and say it out load. Then I handed them out a tip sheet to help their kids with homework I read one tip and they pencil pointed to each word to follow along after reading all tips I had them write down “What tips would you use? and why” and they wrote down why and they gave good answers. finally I did a command action form had them go around the room that related to homework and since we had plenty of time I had them read I page from a book that they grabbed and read a math problem that was on the math chart and do some physical education. This was by far the best class and im really looking forward to the next one!

Started off with “did you work yesterday, are you working today, are you working tomorrow, do you have a day off tomorrow” Then had them spell each others name and last name. Next we worked on more skywriting but this time I got to practice doing it. we did sky writing ABC’s and skywriting materials that is in the hotel and they would say the word out loud and write it down and ill ask “what’s the word?” we also worked on he is she is “is she/he working tomorrow?” Then patrik played a video that he recorded during the maintenance meeting talking about issues that were going on in the rooms, and during the video I jotted down some phrases that the students can write down next class such as “what can I do for you today?” Overall class was great glad that I got to practice doing the sky writing and I got feedback on what I could do better on.

Patrik started of with sky writing for the ABC and there were times that they got lost but a student would say the correct word and the rest would start to notice what patrik was writing and they would all correctly say it by shouting it out. Also having the students spell out everyone’s name. Patrik also did a dictation about Calling The Office, then a student who is the supervisor explained why they don’t answer and what she was explained to Patrik, he had everyone write down and everyone was so focused on their writing which was very fascinating to me. plus most of them are getting the hang of pronouncing the little F or saying a word that has an F in it, which is really exciting to me cause you can see that they are learning something. Overall class went great got to experience something new such as sky writing and having a student spell out everyone’s name out loud.

First time experiencing patrik teach, it went really well and I enjoyed it. We worked on Housekeeping materials such as “This is a Glass cleaner, floor cleaner, toilet brush etc…” going around to each person and letting them know what they had in their hand. Then working with the pronunciation of “F” and doing a quick document search of what would be seen in a hotel or hotel room. There was a lot of laughing people were working together with how to pronounce words or how to spell them by spelling it out loud..

since last week one of the students requested for more writing, Daniel went for it. he brought in a small little comic that each box describes something that the person is doing, such as “waking up” “eating breakfast” etc. Daniel gave examples and he had them write it down. They wrote their own story and Daniel went around helping out and once they were finish, each one read their own story, I thought it was really creative the students really enjoyed it, their was a lot of laughing and also Daniel brought FOOD! ( Oreo cookies)

Julie did her unprepared class and it went very well. we worked on dictation a lot, trying to get everyone to pronounce inches, feet and had them measure their own finger and they would write down “my finger is 2 1/2 inches long”. I think class went really great! we had 4 new people 2 from Barnes and 2 new people, which was awesome! But other than that everyone seemed to enjoy it!!
