What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had eleven learners tonight! We went around the table asking and handing each other kitchen utensils. We then had a dialogue about Valentine’s Day – when is it and what do you do to celebrate. We used Valentines dinner and dessert recipes for document search. We enjoyed the brownies I brought in and then sang, “If I Knew You Were Coming I’d Have Baked a Cake”.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started a few minutes late but ended right on time. We had one new learner, and the rest were mostly regulars. The Midland group is starting to build back up. We asked each other, “Where are you?”, and answered with specific locations. We all enjoyed the memory game with street names! We ended by listening and pointing to places on a map of the area.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started and ended on time. We had several new learners. We had fun using kitchen tools I brought in for vocabulary work. We had a dialogue about borrowing and measuring one cup of oats. We ended with 20 questions using kitchen utensils. This was my first time without a DJ, so it was a little challenging, but the assistants were very helpful and the learners were enthusiastic!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We began and ended on time. Several learners came in late, and one left early. We had an engaging conversation about what each of us eat for Christmas Eve dinner. Then, we learned the beginning of “The Christmas Song”.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started slightly late due to weather and traffic. This class was small, but the learners were all advanced, so we spent a lot of time on conversation. We ended on time.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did alphabet listen and point. Ramin anticipated some late comers, so we postponed yelling and spelling our names until after we played a game. We divided the learners into teams of 2-3, and asked them to write down as many body parts as possible. Then, Ramin went around to each team and asked them to say and spell a body part. The team with the most correct body parts won the game. After yell and spell, we did document search with a medical history check list. We then did dictation with symptoms, such as “stuffy nose”. Next, we did round robin dictation: “I don’t feel well”. We ended with body part listen and point. It was a fun class and everyone was engaged!
