What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class learned today about what it meant to be bundled up. Round robin conversations involving a scarf, wool socks, a jacket, and gloves really challenge the conversational skills of learners in a way that really engaged them in the lesson. Wool was the most challenging word for most of the learners as well.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): For class today, the lesson revolved around coupons, expiration dates, and types of bags. The learners had fun doing a round robin conversation about the types of bags and really enjoyed learning how to spell “receipt” as well.

Ian was shadowing the class today and was very helpful during the dictation and word search. We had three new learners show up and the class was very engaged about the lesson as usual.

The learners were challenged today by having a different MC, which helped to keep them on their toes throughout the lesson. Class was smaller than usual, with two new learners, but that helped to bring the class together to help each other out throughout the lesson.

We did the alphabet sheet, yell and spell, dictation, and finding locations on a map. We also informed the learners of the upcoming potential changes to the area that would lead to rents rising, so they could come out on October 15 and have their voices heard.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Alphabet sheets, yell and spell, dictations, find and point, and round robins on Vaux’s Swift, which was a difficult word for the learners to pronounce tonight. There was also discussion on the upcoming walk at Lent’s International Farmers Market this Sunday. A fun class overall and five new learners showed up as well, which made the class more engaged in helping each other.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had Lucas in class to shadow and help out today. Our lesson was about banana bread and that involved using measuring terms. We used the alphabet sheet, yell and spell, dictation, round robin, and ended with a fun spelling game and some actual banana bread at the end of class. Some of the words were challenging, but the learners were engaged and had a good time.

This really engaged the learners from the alphabet sheet, point and shout, dictation, and especially when playing a spelling game as well. A very fun and uniquely challenging for both the learners and the MC and DJ.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started off somewhat slow and a bit bumpy once people started to show up later, but it was a very energize class and after the MC moved some of the learners around, they became very engaged and helped each other out. Alphabet sheet and yell and spell were done first. We went over the Rose Garden 100 Year Celebration with dictations and round robins, using photos of the garden.
There were some complex sentences as well, with the most challenging words being trial, consistently, and exhibition.
