What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Izzy taught a lesson on running as a form of exercise. The class was very lively and talkative. Izzy brought in an article on how to run effectively and an article on reasons why you should run and many learners asked clarifying questions during class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Big class considering the heat and Triment issues. They were really engage with the ingredients for recipe, asking questions about what certain ingredients. Having actual pieces of ingredients to pass around was helpful. 2 New learners and more advanced learners starting helping them out which was super great to see.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was a productive class. Learners learned many new vocabulary related to farmers market. Such as, Fleek and tomatillo. Many learners were confused by the word tomatillo and they indicated that it sounds like a Spanish word. Izzy’s pace with the class seemed to be too quick for this large and different level group. Overall, good class, learners seemed to enjoy it.

Rebecca had her dress rehearsal and Ramin was there to assist her. We had one new learner and a few learners show up late, which is usually not that case for Wednesday night. A choral response that involved looking at the vendors on their smart phones.

Alphabet sheet was more challenging than usual which was a nice change for the experienced class, also did names, dictation for Portland Timbers and the Portland Thorns, round robin, listen and do, document search. Cecilia did great instructing the larger class, some adjusting to do when we did round robin and keeping the entire classroom on task. Document search was good practice with names. Two new students in the class, both caught on very quickly and participated.

Izzy came prepared with some colorful and informative Articles (2) to reference for two find and point activities that went very well. The class learned about many new vegetables such as zucchini and parsnips, which I though was great for this high level class to be challenged with some vocabulary they haven’t had much experience with. The article also prompted many good questions about Oregon’s SNAP benefits and how to use SNAP at the local farmers market. Overall class did well in dictation and dialogue and seemed more enthusiastic than usual.
