Mike led the class, with the Alphabet sheet and then the Yell and Spell. Then went through dictations of the title of the lesson, and then onto a word match, and a different dictation exercise. The class acted out the practice of making french toast, and then practiced a dialogue. What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): personally I think it was Mike’s best class so far! He started with alphabet, yell n spell, dictation, listen and point, dictation, round robin, listen and point! We also had 3 beautiful assistants who were very helpful!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Maureen started with the alphabet drill followed by Yell and Spell with names. We did dictation progression with her great grandmother’s recipe, then we did several dialogue round robins identifying different kitchen item. We did a few actions, like stirring, scooping, and kneading. Then we found words in a cooking-related word cloud. We finished up with a sample of the banana bread that Maureen had made.

Cheryl had a word cloud with lot of spice names that we found. this was followed by some dictation progression where we talked about how different spices are used. We finished with a round robin, passing around different spices.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We worked on terms and directions related to making brownies. Two new students joined and seemed flustered/a little overwhelmed during the alphabet dictation but stuck with it and stayed engaged throughout the rest of the lesson. Maureen brought brownies to eat at the end and many students asked if she made them. Lots of laughter throughout the class and many students thanked Maureen, Jenny and I as they left!
