What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today’s c;lass was great! Ashley brought in a ton of material and exercises to work with. i think it challenged the higher level students while also being comprehensible for the lower level students. it was a challenging but fun month for Ashley and I with the Secure Housing module but i think this lesson was a great end to module

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Fun class! We had a long document search over a lease agreement and made a bingo sheet for all the tough vocabulary terms. This is a great module for this Tuesday class because we’ve been getting a lot of the same learners consistently on Tuesday evenings. this is a pretty dense topic so its nice to be able to have this lease agreement to keep coming back to.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Tiny class today but it was fun. I’m going to try and have next week’s learners make names and descriptions for all of the professions in the deck of professions. It’ll be fun and maybe we’ll be able to use some of them when we name the people in the picture!

Then we practiced prepositions like “My bathroom is next to my bedroom” etc. Hopefully summertime doesn’t drop the attendance too much more!

I’m getting used to the rhythm of all the activities which is nice and I’m writing my lesson plans more clearly which makes everything a lot easier.

I think having Patrik there to MC was beneficial for Randy, Kalen, and myself because his lesson plan was simple and effective and he explained all of the curriculum to Randy and Kalen more thoroughly than I could have.

Jane and Kalen both assisted me today and it went pretty smoothly. Jane called out letters from the alphabet sheet, participated in dialogue and helped when learners asked what things meant. Kalen also was VERY helpful and was a big reason why the class went so smoothly I think. There was a younger Cuban man tonight also who brought some energy to the class which was really fun. It was a great class overall!
