What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started at 5 after 3pm which is as close to on time as it gets. I handed out the list of 10 and had the interpreters translate it and then we did a listen-and-point with the sentences, the boys in the class were very enthusiastic about this. We then moved on to yell and spell with names. We did the “what are you good at?” in inquiry. I passed out the applications and had then look through them and ask the interpreters questions, after a few minuets we did a document search with the application. I then did a round robin with a dialogue then we took a 5min break. We then did role play and had each student have an exchange with someone else. We did content exploration with employment documents and the we did “This is a..” with different pictures. We then did choral response with the list of 10 and I explained each point and took questions.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started 15 min late because of a meeting another department was having in my room. When we did start I handed out the list of 10 and had the students re-write each sentence to practice writing. I also had the interpreters translate the sentences. We then did yell & spell with names and they answered the question “How do you get to catholic charities and how long does it take?” I passed out MAX maps and we did listen and point and I asked various questions regarding the maps and integrated choral response. we then did a round robin and the did a role play all centered on transportation. We then did “This is an Apple..” and then we went over the items from that activity and connected them to the list of 10.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started about 10min late we had a guest, Officer Jami from the police department. We started with the list of 10 and each student wrote the sentences in their own language. We then moved to the inquiry about what people thought of the police in their home countries. After hearing these answers officer Jami explained the role of the police in the US and took some questions she also explained the items she carried as part of her uniform. We took a break and then continued with a role play of a 911 call. We then filled out emergency contact cards. We had 10 graduates this day so we did a graduation and most people stayed after to ask officer Jami questions.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started the class about 5 after 3pm. we had a guest speaker today so i handed out the list of 10 and had the interpreters interpret what it said. We then introduced ourselves and said what countries we are from. The guest introduced herself and we talked a bit about emotional health and then handed out a worksheet about what you like about america and what you miss about your home country we then shared our answers with the group. we then discussed what a counselor is and how Americans view mental health. the class was being pretty disrespectful to the guest speaker and not really listening so i had to step in multiple times to take control of the class and give pieces of information. I then gave information about cultural shock after this the guest speaker went over the list of 10 and then one of the case managers really wanted to take the class to the Arboretum near the office so we did that and took pictures and the class had a great time.
