What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Final day of class was spent talking about students’ rights should they be confronted by authorities. Used language provided by Patrik, and we went over what rights they have and how to present themselves. They spent a good deal of time working on what the words and ideas meant, and 2 students translated so everyone understood clearly.

Did a lot of choral response, and students are very interested in how to communicate on a day-to-day level not just with coworkers but people they encounter outside of work.

Lastly, we practiced ‘this/that/these/those’, as these ideas were difficult for them last time.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Split students into 2 groups of 3, called out letters and first group to have everyone write the correct letter got a point. Then did same with words that we covered in the past 2 weeks. S’s were engaged and surprisingly competitive- they had issues with wh- words but otherwise did much better than I anticipated. Final activity was bingo using grids made with words we’ve been working on the last two weeks. Used words in sentences when there was confusion. S’s very engaged.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): First, letter listen and point. We then did ‘here it is’ with a simple dialog I had written using words and phrases from the previous 2 weeks. I read the dialog, S’s then repeated, then they practiced in pairs. Last activity was an object recognition (with some spelling) of everyday objects. S’s are challenged but stay with it, and they are getting better with the idea of helping each other. One student is a bit competitive but he is now helping without being prompted.
