What happened: Started the class with a song about school that had subjects in the lyrics. Passed around school supplies for description and a little applied instruction – This went well and the class seemed to enjoy the application of sentences to a visual representation of what was being said. This was a good class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Tonight was evaluation night with Brooke. The class went great and it was our smallest class at this location with only 4 learners including a new face tonight. We talked about we think of when we think of summer, and we practiced choral and response with the lyrics of “California Dreaming” which had the perfect amount of repetition in the lyrics to keep the class engaged.

We had a new shadower – Angie, and Angie provided a nice smile and warm engagement to the class. We introduced the song earlier in the class, and I thought this is nice transition.

Great Class! Everybody enjoyed themselves and the class showed a lot of positive vibes. Our class had about 3 new learners, new to the regulars who had attended the Irvington classes. Mark brought a Bingo game that everybody had fun playing, and this brought a lot of connection.

During reflection we had taken the opportunity to talk about the class and what future classes may look like. We anticipate a class nearly twice as large this next Tuesday. This is an exciting opportunity for all involved.

Great class! We had a new learner today who attended with a guest. We worked on the trimet Module, and I found the Bridge card cut outs to be helpful, as our bridges serve as benchmarks in the city and represent a common ground that all of us in Portland can relate too.
