What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had a total of 8 learners join us for the evening. Most were in the intermediate to low levels of proficiency, a couple of high-level learners. The class went pretty well, it was very organized and the students got to learn about some foods that they can find in American Thanksgiving dinners. Laura brought real foods such as sweet potato, cranberries, and a pumpkin pie so they could understand what their unknown words were. The class was pretty mellow but the students enjoyed it a lot and participated in reading various materials.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Melissa introduced the learners to emergency kits. She had great visuals (video + small emergency kit) so they could understand what they were and the sorts of things that you can find in them. We had 5 new students, with a total of 16 students! It was a bit hard to move around the room with so many people in it, but we each tried to work in one section of the room and then rotate to be able to help other learners. The students were very engaged in the material and they seemed to enjoy the lesson.
