What happened (as short or long a description as you like): It was great to be back at this site. AND we now have a room just for our class. A room with a table yay!!! What I enjoy about this class is that you can already feel a strong community since they of course already know each other from church. This can be very comforting to a the people such as myself coming in, I don’t have to feel the pressure to build that community. One thing, now that I’m getting a better feel for the learners, I need to make sure to arrange them so that there are evenly placed high level students with lower ones. We had two people I’d never seen before who sat in the corner away from the top people. I had to ask one of the learners I knew to be higher level to move closer to them.

What happened (as short or long a description as you like): Very small class today due to other events going on in the church. I have to admit though it was extremely nice to get the opportunity to work closely with the group that showed up. A couple of them really needed the extra coaching and time during the dictation so I was pleased that we could move along at a relaxing speed. There was lots of laughter going on which always makes for a fun class. And we got to learn an Arabic word or two.

Quinton did a great job with his first class. The students shared stories about medical experiences and pointed/wrote down certain body parts. I know it can be challenging to get everyone to show up on time because there are a lot of other things going on at the church but Quinton handled it all very well and taught an awesome lesson.

What happened (as short or long a description as you like): The students practiced a lot of dictation, writing paragraphs And discussing their Mother’s days. Overall, I would say Patrick did a very good job with keeping students active and engaged with him.
