What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
Started with a dialogue about going to the market.. We practiced that for a good 15 minutes or so, using our food images to answer the question with. This was a nice seguey into the food bingo activity. Learners wrote the name of the food that I showed them, then they played bingo. I wish I had brought in a prize of some sort. The win was a bit uneventful :-/
The last 20 minutes or so, I had them listening to a youtube clip about ‘how to shop at a farmers market’. It was quite challenging for 1 learner, tho the other did pretty good. They listened and wrote what they heard, we only got through about half of the steps, but ultimately great listenting practice.August 10, 2016 at 6:24 pm #7812Brooke StadySpectatorLesson Title: Are you going to go to the market this weekend?

Also for this class we started with a dialogue about going to the market.. We practiced that for a good 15 minutes or so, using our food images to answer the question with. We then practiced using do you prefer ___ or ____ with regards to grocery store vs. farmers market. This was more difficult than I thought it would be; we had to first figure out what ‘prefer’ meant and then review the difference between a supermarket and farmers market. We worked together to get the best practice out of it, and they worked hard!
The last 25 minutes or so, I had them listening to the youtube clip about ‘how to shop at a farmers market’. It was pretty challenging for all, but we got through all the steps and it was great listenting practice. -
