Finally, people came to the class! We did a “Vocabulary Homework” worksheet where there are individual tasks to do regarding each vocabulary word: use a dictionary to find the definition, draw a picture, use it in a sentence, how many syllables, etc. The vocabulary theme for the day was “insects” so here the example of the insects we drew in class: Can you guess what they are?

Being able to focus on the needs of one student is interesting, though the challenges are quite unique, too.  After a lot of tech problems I encountered trying to get materials printed and collected, I had more than I needed, including props and samples.
We did a lot of work on vocab and role playing, which was successful.  I had a video of Weird Al’s Eat It, which was a little too dense compared to the standards I’ve used before.  However, writing out and repeating the lyrics proved successful, too, as it gave us time to explore the words whose meaning was not clear.
And, the site had a pizza there which was not only dinner for us, but a great prop in the discussion.
