What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started off with our names and then went straight into a document search. There were a few learners who really LOVED this activity. We dictated the addresses for IRCO and the Sunshine Division and did a listen and point related to community spaces. We also explained what 211 was for and a brief description of the history of Thanksgiving. After class, we helped learners sign up for community resources and invited everybody to the Moveable Feast.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): At the begining of class Graziella had everybody spell their names and say where they’re from. Then she explained what we were going to be talking about and sort of set the stage for Leah (a Catholic Charities intern) to take over. Leah went through a powerpoint and had the class compare the education systems of their home country to the US. After Leah finished Gaziella took over and wrapped that up with questions and set the stage for a person from the library to talk about their services. Graziella also passed out a paper suggesting that they come to PPT English classes.
