What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Small group today, but turned it to good use with the owner being in the class. I gave myself good poise because we had such an unusual, high stakes class under non ideal circumstances, but it went well, and was able to coach Kelly and she was a good sport – and one of the learners, who has confidence issues, was able to start gaining a little bit of confidence. A really nice outcome.

Reflection: “It was ok.” (1) vs. Life-changing Epiphany (10) = 4Total Score: 32
What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Because I wasn’t sure who was going to show up, and other reasons, I didn’t have a lesson planned. But one of the first things that happened was a returning learner said she was going to bring some salad rolls, and we leveraged this into a full session about how to make salad rolls. It was engaging and the time went by quickly.

Reflection: “It was ok.” (1) vs. Life-changing Epiphany (10) = 6Total Score: 36
What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Only one learner, but he’s really really engaged, and we spent the entire time focusing on things relevant to him. Got word that there were many others who were working overtime who would have liked to have been there. Some confusion about the words frustration, complacency, fatigue, rushing.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): only one learner to begin with, but we acquired another one later. the focus was dictation and pronunciation for them, and we got quite a bit deeper. This particular learner has gotten good at doing what the class expects, but is starting to struggle with producing more.. and I listen, and we correct and write it down, then we’ll go back to questions and have him reply to them again. Then – the topic of the safety bonus came up.. and we had a nice small group to explain the bonus structure, dictating it and going into great detail.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Very useful class. Tao was a little disengaged while Kong was doing a practice session with Franz, but it was useful modeling.
