What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
The class went over the alphabet, then we did names, dictation, then we went outside for about 30-45 minutes. While we were outside in the park we went over the different trees, we stood in circles and did dictation standing up. Marc lead the class and I went around the circle making sure everyone was supported in our dictations. After going inside we wrote things down about what we did. Overall a very rewarding class.

We went over the alphabet sheets and then went around the room and said our names. Afterwards we did dictation. We played word search with a farmers tip article. We did round robin “Where do you buy your grocers” “I buy them at my neighborhood farmers market”. We passed around radishes. We went over what fruits and vegetables are in season and when. We demonstrated as a group how to plant seeds and what the different parts of a plant are called.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
In this class we talked about planting seeds. In the beginning we did the usual alphabet and names. Then we talked about gardening. We passed around a bag of soil and the seed starters. The last 25 minutes of class they each got their own seed starter (2 each actually because they are tiny), then we put soil in each seed starter. Each seed starter had its only little bowl to sit in. Then we gave them seeds and instructed them to put them 1/8 to 1 inch in the soil. We talked about germination and planting the seed starters as soon as the seed sprouts to 1 inch tall. There were a couple of new people and I wanted to show them 2- one minute clips of planting seeds and also time lapse video of seeds sprouting but I couldn’t get my laptop to work right.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We drew the parts of a plant and then labeled them. The class, in the beginning, not only said their own names but we each wrote everyone’s names out in addition to speaking them. Later, in class, we had dictation about gardening and also we all stood up and demonstrating planting/ gardening and speaking each action. Good Class!
