What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Because of recent problems in the class (with one child being so demanding that no one can concentrate) after talking to Patrik we decided to try something new. I started by sitting learners and assistants in a circle and explaining that we would be doing one-on-one lessons today. (I met wit the Assistants for a few minutes ahead of class to tell them what to do). I then paired people up and sent them to tables we had scattered around the room. We each started with the alphabet, since that is so familiar, and were able to cater to the level of the individual. Each teacher/assistant proceded with dictation based on whatever topic they wanted to use. For me, it was mostly family and school. I also incorporated the child into the lesson (he was far more content with this arrangement). Others worked on numbers, colors, relationships. Some used books, pictures from a puzzle game, markers and crayons as props for listen and point. Considering we have not yet been trained it went very well, I think because the relationships between learners and assistants is already developed. The two kids that were present participated, or stayed very near the adults. Feedback from assistants was that an hour and a half was too long, so we will try an hour next time and do something as a group at the end.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We continued with our one-on-one. I worked with mother and 2 yr old son, mostly using dictation and props to talk about toys, crafts and playing with kids (while actually playing with kid). Others did more with getting to know you questions, numbers, parts of the body, and more. We came together for the last 30 minutes and played Simon says and did a round robin using craft materials.
