What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): I dictated sentences about the number of delegates candidates needed to win the nominations. Left the learners guessing what the “battleground” term meant until they used their translation apps and understood when I mimed a battle of words and wills. We colored in states on a map of the U.S. highlighting where each candidate was from. They enjoy learning more about the states that comprise the U.S. and where they’re situated in relation to each other. The single learner enjoyed getting to know two new learners from Russia. They helped each other a lot and it was nice camaraderie to witness.
