Language Skills Development

We use this phrase instead of “language learning” or “language acquisition”. The pedagogical philosophy of this program is that language and cultural skills are acquired and refined – and sometimes lost – over a lifetime. Our facilitators provide training for language learners – which are opportunities to improve their abilities. Language skills development is not linear; it’s not primarily academic or grammatical and it’s not equivalent to structural knowledge. It’s the ability to do something well. Though it sounds cliché, “practice makes perfect” and “use it or lose it” both refer to developmental learning processes.
