What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Zadok opened class with the programs foundational activities. After this students compared their ways of playing rock, paper, scissors. Then Zadok took the class through a TPR activity to pre-teach the vocabulary we would be using later on. He then had the students write down the vocabulary. We reviewed the vocabulary throughout. Then Zadok dictated the rules for the game Carcassonne. The students wrote down the rules. Then we played the game for the remainder of class.

She started with the alphabet sheet, went to a document search on bird idioms, the meanings of the idioms were dictated, we watched a video and discussed ” the early bird gets the worm”, Elizabeth dictated a poem, and we finished talking about other bird idioms.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today we celebrated Zadok’s birthday with a potluck. Around the table we discussed the earthquakes in Mexico and exercise routines. After the meal we gathered around and did a “Here’s an apple” activity with Yahtzee. Once all the items were identified the learners wrote them down. Then through speak and repeat we went through the rules of the game. Lastly we played Yahtzee.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): This was Betty’s dress rehearsal. She started with dictation about roosting. We used the dictation phrases to discuss some photos and do a couple question and answer sets. We also did a couple activities where we acted out vocab and did a mini scavenger hunt around the room. We finished with a couple more round robin questions, which were fun because students got to talk about themselves (always a popular topic!)
