What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Great class and though less attendance, perhaps lower turnout because it’s the week after Thanksgiving? MC did great “this is a” relevant activity about Christmas lights around Portland. Key is with learner Zau, Ian will follow through with him and exchange numbers to make sure there’s no flub up this coming Thurs…

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
Only 4 students tonight from 4 different languages!
We spent most of the class doing a 25-question online survey. Three of the four students were cool with doing it online, and one completed the survey on paper.
Since we had a student:teacher ratio of 2:1, we spent a lot of time working through the survey questions as students made their way through. It’s hard to provide pinpoint feedback with how it went, but a few places where students got hung up –
“I strongly agree with this statement” is a convoluted construction.
“Religious Activities,” “Laundromat,” “Entertainment” were also new vocab for some.Highlight of the class – students joking with each other as we used the surveymonkey website as dictation – PPBT82T!

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): It was raining and storming outside so not many learners showed up, just 3. They were all pretty advanced so we were able to keep them busy and have comprehensible side conversations. Conall led a well-paced lesson and dictations, let everyone know that classes won’t be returning there in the ensuing weeks till late Jan.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Daniel started with the alphabet and yell n spell then went right into the title of todays lesson. Next was a dictation about recycling aluminum; learners wrote it down then we did choral repetition. Next was a listen/find using a document related to the topic and leaners enjoyed repeating many of the words/phrases. With a bit of time left, we talked about our holiday travel plans.. seems like everyone will be cooking/eating and spending time with family! :)
