What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Alphabet sheets, yell and spell, dictation on school supplies, school names, and general questions in regards to school. We also did a find and point with school supplies and a classroom setting, and a few round robins. It was Matthew’s Dress Rehearsal, but he came ready and the learners knew him so that helped to engage them.

Mixed up how I usually do the alphabet sheet to keep the class on their toes with some challenging and not practiced letter combinations, also did names, dictation for birds of a feather facts. Word cloud find and point with bird related words, listen and do with fly, flap, peck, and chirp, and labeled the anatomy for a bird with dictation progression. The class was very engaged and had strong choral responses and very enthusiastic “ready” throughout the class. Challenging dictations on bird facts, round robin identifying birds of the picture with choral response. What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Alphabet sheets, yell and spell, dictations, find and point, and round robins on Vaux’s Swift, which was a difficult word for the learners to pronounce tonight. There was also discussion on the upcoming walk at Lent’s International Farmers Market this Sunday. A fun class overall and five new learners showed up as well, which made the class more engaged in helping each other.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Patrick coached Matthew as the class went on, very full and enthusiastic class but was a bit distracted by this new aspect. Also, Amy from the Lent’s Green Ring came in and discussed the walking even this Sunday, the class was very engaged and we used maps and fliers, and the class really understood the event and had a high interest in attending. With all the shake-ups in this class and for how packed it was, it went very well and the students had great discussions about the event and a strong understanding.
