What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Learners were asked to answer survey questions, which were explained using a mix of dictation, pictures, and gestures. Two child learners who already knew the questions helped show pictures, translate, and spell questions. Some of the questions were confusing, but learners were engaged, asking questions, and worked together to figure out the more confusing questions. It was a lot of content to get through in the class time.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): a little discombobulated, we had everyone at the one big table instead of multiple tables, which was tight, but it worked. one new person. mixed people up a little bit. Melissa is from lents, and she walked around with images of life hacks. lots of dictation, and it grinded at times.. better preparation would have helped. we also sung a little of let it snow, which could have been better prepared too

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class learned today about what it meant to be bundled up. Round robin conversations involving a scarf, wool socks, a jacket, and gloves really challenge the conversational skills of learners in a way that really engaged them in the lesson. Wool was the most challenging word for most of the learners as well.

Assistants: Ivy & Melissa
Module: Life Hacks
How Many Learners: 15
Materials Status (loyalty cards, alphabet sheets, etc): We need more loyalty cards.Self Evaluation

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Alex MC’d a class of 15. The lesson was about life hacks. We did some sentence dictation and a round robin on a life hack to waterproof your shoes with candle wax. The library staff was super helpful getting us some additional chairs, but they did let us know that we cannot go over 20 total people in the room. That includes the MC and any assistants. Neither of us had gotten an email about Mellissa shadowing, but she jumped right in and worked with learners. I couldn’t tell how familiar she is with how the PPT method works, but she seemed excited about the Lents green ring English class thing happening out there. Alex wrapped up class by doing a point and find activity. We are short on the loyalty cards.
